The Start of an Adventure

So in the summer of 2017 my father called me saying that he wanted to make a trip across America, a road trip, in a small RV, to carry his father’s ashes to the pacific ocean, to spread them with grandma’s. He asked me and my brother to take a month from our lives for this adventure. There were a lot of reasons not to go; work, school, friends, etc., but we decided to go anyways. We would start in Alabama, then drive to Nashville for a night on the town. From there our journey would take us north, through Kentucky and Illinois and the arch of St. Louis, the gateway to the west and the same place Louis and Clarke began their journey to the west. From there we would head west through Missouri and Kansas, into Colorado, where we would spend around 4 days, then south to Mesa Verde, the grand canyon and out into Las Vegas, Nevada. From there we would make the pacific ocean and California for the funeral. Finally, we would travel to see and uncle we had never met out in Oregon. Along the way we would meet some interesting people, and change our relationship, between father and sons. The following posts are that story. From mid July to mid August.
